Jitendra Sonal sworn in as Madhes Province Chief Minister



JANAKPURDHAM: Newly appointed Chief Minister of Madhes Province, Jitendra Prasad Sonal, took the oath of office and secrecy on Thursday.

At a ceremony held at the Office of the Province Head in Janakpurdham, Sonal, a Provincial Assembly member from the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) Nepal, took the oath in the Bhojpuri language before Province Head Sumitra Subedi Bhandari.

On Wednesday evening, Province Head Bhandari appointed Sonal as Chief Minister under Article 168 (2) of the Constitution with the support of 56 Provincial Assembly members representing five political parties.
