Funeral held for 10 declared martyrs of Gen-Z protests



KATHMANDU: The funeral of ten people who lost their lives during the violent Gen-Z protests of September 8 and 9 is being held today.

Of the deceased, nine bodies had been kept at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj and one at Patan Hospital.

To honor their sacrifice, a funeral procession was organized, beginning from Teaching Hospital and making a symbolic circuit along the Ring Road before cremation.

According to Teaching Hospital spokesperson Kali Prasad Rosyara, the bodies have already been taken out for the procession.

Just a day earlier, on Monday, the government had decided to officially recognize those killed during the Gen-Z movement as martyrs.
