Preparations underway to transfer Rabi Lamichhane to Kathmandu; Armed Police and Nepal Police deployed



KATHMANDU: Authorities are preparing to transfer Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) chair Rabi Lamichhane, who is currently being held in Rupandehi prison on remand in connection with the cooperative fraud case.

A police team has already been mobilized at the Rupandehi District Prison to carry out the transfer. Director of the Department of Prison Management, Kalpana Ghimire Nepal, confirmed that the decision was made on Friday following a request submitted by Lamichhane.

Both Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force have been deployed around the prison. While officials have indicated that Lamichhane will be flown to Kathmandu, the exact timing of the transfer has not been disclosed.
