Rain likely in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati and Sudurpaschim provinces



KATHMANDU: Monsoon winds are currently affecting parts of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and the eastern region of Lumbini Province.

Additionally, the western regions are experiencing the partial influence of westerly and local winds, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

This afternoon, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy across the country. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in some areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in a few areas of the remaining provinces.

One or two locations in Koshi, Madhes, and Bagmati provinces may experience heavy rainfall. Light rain and snowfall are also expected in some parts of the high hills and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in isolated areas of the remaining high hill and mountain regions.

Tonight, the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy across the country. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in some areas of Koshi, Madhes, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in isolated areas of other provinces.

There is also a chance of heavy rainfall at one or two locations in Koshi, Madhes, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim. Light rain and snowfall may occur in some high hill and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and at a few spots in the remaining mountainous regions.
