Earthquake tremors felt in Kathmandu Valley

KATHMANDU: Tremors from an earthquake were felt in the Kathmandu Valley and surrounding areas early Wednesday morning.

According to the National Seismological and Research Center, a magnitude-5 earthquake struck Dingze, China, located 18 kilometers north of Nepal’s border. The tremor was recorded at 4:05 AM.

In recent days, Nepal’s Jajarkot district has experienced a series of earthquakes.

The center reported a magnitude 4.4 quake in Kushe Rural Municipality of Jajarkot, at 4:53 AM on Tuesday.

Another earthquake of magnitude 4.1 struck Jajarkot, at 9:31 PM on Monday. There have been no reports of damage from this quake.
