Himalayan Cricket Academy wins 10th Nepal-Pakistan Friendship T20 cricket tournament



KATHMANDU: The closing and prize distribution ceremony of the “10th Edition of Nepal-Pakistan Friendship T20 Cricket Tournament-2025” was held today, marking the conclusion of a highly anticipated sporting event.

The tournament, which began on 7 February 2025, saw twelve teams from various clubs competing for the top honor.

Dhruba Acharya, Vice President of the National Sports Council of Nepal awarded the winning trophy to the Himalayan Cricket Academy, while Angles Sports Academy claimed the runners-up trophy.

Special guests at the event included Noha Hamdy Ahmed Elgebaly, Ambassador of Egypt to Nepal; Chen Song, Ambassador of China to Nepal, Dr. Pema Gyamtsho, Director General of ICIMOD, Humayun Kabir, Charge d’Affaires at the Bangladesh Embassy, and Yu Pengcheng, Director of Political & Media at the China Embassy.

The special guests presented prizes to prominent players and officials of the T20 Cricket Tournament during the ceremony.

In his address, Chief Guest Dhruba Acharya praised the Pakistan Embassy for its initiative in successfully organizing the event.

He emphasized that the tournament has become a key fixture on Kathmandu’s sporting calendar and reflects the close relations between Nepal and Pakistan.

He congratulated the winning team, Himalayan Cricket Academy, and commended the organizers for their efforts in bringing the event to fruition.

He also noted that the tournament provided valuable opportunities for emerging cricket players in Nepal.

Ambassador of Pakistan Abrar H. Hashmi delivered the closing remarks, expressing his commitment to continue fostering youth exchanges between the two nations through similar events in the future.

He congratulated all participating teams, particularly the Himalayan Cricket Academy, and thanked the Chief Guest, special guests, and participants for their support.
