Speaker Ghimire boycotts oath-taking ceremony of new ministers

KATHMANDU: Speaker of the House, Dev Raj Ghimire, boycotted the oath-taking ceremony of newly appointed ministers of the interim government held on Monday at Sheetal Niwas.

However, National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal attended the ceremony.

Ghimire had also been absent from the swearing-in of newly appointed Prime Minister Sushila Karki earlier, following the political developments triggered by the Gen-Z movement. President Ram Chandra Paudel appointed Karki as interim Prime Minister on Friday.

Immediately after taking the oath, Prime Minister Karki dissolved the House of Representatives, adding to the ongoing political developments.
