NEPSE jumps 34.46 points



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a strong performance on Tuesday, with all sector indices ending the day in green.

The NEPSE index surged by 34.46 points (1.26%), closing at 2,760 points.

Trading volume also rose significantly. While turnover on the previous trading day stood at Rs 8.17 billion, it jumped to Rs 9.41 billion today. Out of the total listed companies, share prices of 209 advanced, while only 39 declined.

Among the sector indices, commercial banks led the rally with a 1.81% gain. Other notable gains included finance (1.79%), hydropower (1.71%), microfinance (1.28%), development banks (1.22%), and investment companies (1.08%). Hotels and tourism rose by 0.93%, manufacturing by 0.88%, non-life insurance by 0.76%, life insurance by 0.68%, trading by 0.85%, and the “others” group by 0.52%.
