Westerly and local winds shaping weather patterns across Nepal



KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division reports that Nepal is currently under the influence of westerly and local wind systems.

Additionally, moisture-laden winds from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea are having a partial impact.

At present, skies are partly to mostly cloudy across Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, with hilly regions seeing partial cloud cover. Other areas of the country are experiencing mostly clear to partly cloudy conditions.

Light rain with lightning has been observed in some parts of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

The weather this afternoon is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions, while other areas will experience mostly clear to partly cloudy skies.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in several places across the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, and at isolated spots in other hilly regions. One or two locations in high hill and mountainous areas may also see light snowfall.
