NA Chair calls for focus on improving people’s living conditions

KATHMANDU: National Assembly (NA) Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal has emphasized the need for the government and political parties to prioritize improving the living conditions of the people.

Speaking at a program organized today, he stated, “Although the political system has changed, the standard of living for the people has not improved in a way that is truly noticeable.”

He expressed the view that the people are seeking better access to education, healthcare, employment, and economic prosperity.

The Chair of the National Assembly, the upper house of the Federal Parliament, also noted that there is a sense of despondency among the people, particularly among marginalized classes, castes, genders, regions, and communities, who have not been able to fully enjoy constitutionally guaranteed rights, such as education, healthcare, housing, employment, and drinking water.

Stressing that education is the backbone of national development, he said that every child should have the opportunity to study without fear. He further highlighted the crucial role of the education sector in building a prosperous society for the nation.
