The festival, organized by Mandala Theatre, will be held from March 19 to 25.

Festival coordinator Kedar Shrestha stated that the selection was made from a total of 115 plays submitted from around the world.

“We had received 115 plays from various countries. Out of them, 17 have been selected,” Shrestha shared.

This year’s NITFest is being held under the theme “Theatre for Social Transformation: Light of Indigenous Wisdom” and will take place at Mandala Theatre in Kathmandu, as well as in Pokhara, Bharatpur, and Belbari.

The event will host more than 100 international artists, with performers from Scotland, China, and Germany leading three separate workshops.

Besides theatre performances, the festival will also feature art exhibitions, music, and dance programs, adding a vibrant cultural dimension to the event.
