Ruling parties to hold crucial meeting today

KATHMANDU: The ruling parties are set to hold a joint meeting at 11 am today, following a decision made by the government’s high-level political mechanism on Friday.

The meeting comes amid growing tensions after the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal (JSPN) and the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) publicly voiced their opposition to the land ordinance.

Their objections have prompted the ruling coalition to engage in further discussions to address concerns within the alliance.

Sources indicate that the working group on constitutional amendment will present its views during the meeting, while discussions on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission are also on the agenda.
