Technical issues disrupt services at Department of Transport Management

KATHMANDU: The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) is facing technical problems at its data center, affecting its temporary server and disrupting services.

The department had partially resumed operations on November 2, allowing applications for new and renewed driving licenses and resuming printing services. However, technical issues that emerged on Friday morning have forced the department to suspend these services until further notice, according to an official statement.

The department clarified that the online application system for electronic driving licenses and new licenses will remain closed until the issue is resolved.

Services were already disrupted earlier due to damages sustained during the protests on September 8 and 9, which had affected departmental operations.
