KATHMANDU: The major infrastructure construction of the Gwarko flyover has been completed.

Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Devendra Dahal, and a team of the Department of Roads made an inspection visit to the site today at the flyover construction area at Gwarko, Lalitpur.

On the occasion, Minister Dahal said that construction of the flyover was delayed since it was a new case for Nepal.

Likewise, Director General of the Department, Dr Bijay Jaisi, said that the flyover would be ready for vehicle operations within some days. It is said that some dividers at the centre of the flyover and few other tasks are left to do.

The project, costing Rs 176 million, was initially scheduled for completion by February 23, 2024, but the deadline was not met due to different circumstances.

With the completion of the flyover, vehicular movement along the Koteshwor-Gwarko section would be easier.
