Govt committed to environmental protection and EV promotion: Finance Minister



KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel today highlighted the government’s strong commitment to environmental protection and pollution control, urging every Nepali citizen to contribute to this crucial effort.

Speaking at the Electric Vehicle (EV) Rally organized by Annapurna Media Network, Minister Paudel stated that the government is actively formulating policies that prioritize environmental protection, keeping in mind the potential risks posed by climate change.

“Ensuring a clean environment is not just a concern for a specific country; it’s a shared concern for the entire planet,” said Finance Minister Paudel.

He acknowledged the dual challenge of addressing developmental needs while simultaneously creating a clean environment.

“By organizing initiatives like the ‘Sagarmatha Sambaad,’ we have conveyed our commitment to environmental protection.”

Minister Paudel further affirmed the government’s firm stance on promoting electric vehicles. He highlighted EVs as a key component of their environmental strategy.

During the event, Captain Rameshwar Thapa, Chairman of Annapurna Media Network, stated that the media’s role extends beyond news dissemination to include environmental protection. He confirmed that the network is actively engaged in this campaign, demonstrating their commitment to the cause.
