KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana is set to depart for Oman today, leading a four-member Nepali delegation, as confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

She will be traveling to Muscat to participate in the 9th Indian Ocean Conference, which will take place from February 14 to 20.

This year’s conference will focus on the theme, ‘A New Journey for Maritime Partnership.’

Minister Rana is attending the event at the invitation of Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Bader bin Hamad bin Hamud Al Busaidi.

During her visit, Minister Rana is scheduled to speak at a session titled ‘Promoting the Voice of the Global South,’ according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

She will also hold meetings with Oman’s Foreign Minister, Energy Minister, Minerals Minister, and other key officials from relevant ministries.

Additionally, there are plans to sign several memorandums of understanding to enhance mutual cooperation between the two nations.

Minister Rana is also preparing to hold a virtual meeting with Nepali ambassadors and diplomatic chiefs from various Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
