US dollar hits record high in NRB’s exchange rate update 



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has published today’s foreign currency exchange rates, with the US dollar reaching its highest value to date. According to the official rates, the buying price of one US dollar has been set at Rs 144.37 and the selling price at Rs 144.97.

The buying rate for one Euro stands at Rs 169.24 and the selling rate at Rs 169.95. Similarly, one UK Pound Sterling is being bought at Rs 193.02 and sold at Rs 193.82. The Swiss Franc’s buying rate has been fixed at Rs 181.48 and its selling rate at Rs 182.24.

For other major currencies, the buying rate of the Australian Dollar is Rs 96.19 and the selling rate Rs 96.59; the Canadian Dollar’s buying rate is Rs 104.91 and selling rate Rs 105.34; and the Singapore Dollar’s buying and selling rates are Rs 111.75 and Rs 112.12 respectively.

Similarly, the buying rate of 10 Japanese Yen is Rs 9.26, with the selling rate at Rs 9.29. One Chinese Yuan is being bought at Rs 20.46 and sold at Rs 20.55. The buying rate of one Saudi Arabian Riyal is Rs 38.47 and the selling rate Rs 38.63, while one Qatari Riyal is being bought at Rs 39.61 and sold at Rs 39.77.

According to the central bank, the buying rate of one Thai Baht is Rs 4.58 and the selling rate Rs 4.60. The buying rate of one UAE Dirham is Rs 39.31 and the selling rate Rs 39.47. One Malaysian Ringgit is being bought at Rs 35.21 and sold at Rs 35.35.

One South Korean Won is being bought at Rs 9.78 and sold at Rs 9.82. The buying rate of one Swedish Kronor is Rs 15.53 and the selling rate Rs 15.59, while the Danish Kronor’s buying and selling rates are Rs 22.66 and Rs 22.75 respectively.

Nepal Rastra Bank has set the buying rate of one Hong Kong Dollar at Rs 18.54 and the selling rate at Rs 18.62. The buying rate of one Kuwaiti Dinar stands at Rs 470.58, with a selling rate of Rs 472.54. One Bahraini Dinar is being bought at Rs 382.97 and sold at Rs 384.56. The Omani Rial’s buying and selling rates are Rs 374.98 and Rs 376.54 respectively. The buying rate of one hundred Indian Rupees has been fixed at Rs 160, with a selling rate of Rs 160.15.

The central bank has stated that these exchange rates may be revised whenever necessary. Commercial banks may set slightly different rates, and the latest updates are available on the Nepal Rastra Bank website.
