Home Minister, IGP meet injured Gen-Z protesters, representatives



KATHMANDU: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal and newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Bahadur Karki jointly met with two individuals injured during the Gen-Z protest and representatives of the movement on Thursday at the Home Ministry.

The meeting followed IGP Karki’s ceremonial conferring of the police chief insignia by Home Secretary Rameshwar Dangal. During the meeting, the injured individuals requested proper treatment and urged the government and police to address the legitimate demands of the Gen-Z movement.

Home Minister Aryal also congratulated IGP Karki on his promotion and wished him a successful tenure. He instructed the police chief to maintain public peace, ensure robust security arrangements ahead of the upcoming House of Representatives elections, and lead the force in a way that keeps morale high.

IGP Karki assured that he and his organization would remain fully committed to protecting citizens’ lives and property, maintaining law and order, and acting within the scope of government orders and directives.
