Rabi Lamichhane, Chhabilal Joshi cases scheduled for joint hearing at Butwal High Court

BUTWAL: The hearing for the Supreme Cooperative embezzlement case involving Rastriya Swatantra Party Chair Rabi Lamichhane has been scheduled at the High Court, Butwal Bench, before a joint panel of Judges Omprakash Aryal and Basudev Acharya.

Alongside Lamichhane, the case against former Gorkha Media operator and ex-DIG Chhabilal Joshi will also be heard in the same bench. Lamichhane, currently in custody at Nakhu Jail, Lalitpur, had requested to contest the case from outside by depositing the required bail amount. However, previous orders from the District Court, Rupandehi, High Court, and Supreme Court had kept him in custody for trial purposes.

The bench will now decide whether Lamichhane can remain out on bail or continue in custody while the trial proceeds. Earlier, both Lamichhane and Joshi’s similar cases were consolidated to be heard together to ensure procedural efficiency.
