KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation and Inquiry into the Gen-Z movement has written to outgoing Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chandrakuber Khapung, prohibiting him from traveling abroad.
The Commission’s ban on his foreign travel takes effect from today, Thursday, and he must obtain the Commission’s permission to leave the valley, said Commission member and spokesperson Bigyan Raj Sharma.
The Commission also stated that Khapung may be called to provide a statement at any time and is required to be present when summoned.
Earlier, the Commission had similarly prohibited then-Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, then-Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, and others from traveling abroad, requiring them to seek permission to leave the valley.
Khapung retired from the Nepal Police after completing his service term at midnight last night.
