Dan Bahadur Karki to assume office as new IGP of Nepal Police today



KATHMANDU: Newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Bahadur Karki is set to assume office on Thursday, following the retirement of outgoing IGP Chandra Kubar Khapung.

According to Nepal Police spokesperson DIG Avin Narayan Kafle, Karki will first attend a badge-pinning ceremony at the Ministry of Home Affairs at around 10:45 a.m. before heading to the Nepal Police Headquarters in Naxal to formally take charge.

Karki, who succeeded Khapung after his retirement due to the age limit on Wednesday, will serve as the chief of Nepal Police until March 31, 2028.
