Parliament dissolution a coup against republic: Bhupendra Jung Shahi

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress youth leader Bhupendra Jung Shahi has denounced the dissolution of Parliament, claiming it was carried out unconstitutionally through a conspiracy backed by the military.

Shahi said the constitution, earned through the sacrifices of thousands of Nepalis, and the Parliament elected by the people’s mandate were murdered at gunpoint by the army. He strongly condemned the move, calling it an attack on democracy.

According to Shahi, the democratic republic achieved through the blood of martyrs has been deliberately dismantled to impose authoritarian rule.

He further alleged that those who infiltrated the ongoing Gen-Z protests, vandalized public property, looted banks, and even stood by silently while the Office of the President was set on fire, have exposed the depth of the conspiracy.
