UK terms formation of Nepal’s interim govt. a significant step

KATHMANDU: The United Kingdom has described the appointment of former Chief Justice Sushila Karki as Nepal’s interim prime minister as a significant step following last week’s political developments.

Shortly after Karki assumed office on Friday, the British Embassy in Kathmandu reacted through its official Facebook page.

“As Nepal’s oldest friend, the UK stands ready to support Nepali aspirations for accountability and inclusive governance while facing upcoming challenges,” the embassy noted.
