KATHMANDU: The United Kingdom (UK) has described the appointment of Sushila Karki as Nepal’s interim Prime Minister as an important step forward following recent political developments.

The British Embassy in Kathmandu responded via social media shortly after former Chief Justice Karki assumed office on Friday.

As Nepal’s oldest friend, the UK has expressed its commitment to supporting the country through upcoming challenges and reaffirmed its support for the Nepali people’s aspirations for accountable and inclusive governance.
