Contractor, worker found dead in in Sunsari



SUNSARI: Two men, a contractor and a worker, were found dead inside a septic tank of an under-construction house in Duhabi Municipality–4, Sunsari, on Wednesday morning.

The deceased have been identified as 50-year-old Shyam Bahadur Tamang of Duhabi–2, who held the construction contract, and 32-year-old Ramesh Rai, a laborer, police said.

According to Yograj Khatiwada, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Sunsari, the bodies were discovered around 10 AM at the site of Chandrika Rauniyar’s under-construction house near Shiva Mandir Chowk. Locals alerted the police, and a team from the Duhabi Area Police Office reached the scene.

A forensic team from BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan has been deployed for further investigation and testing. Authorities said the cause of death is still under investigation and that inquiries are ongoing.
