Lingden’s authoritarianism unacceptable: Dhawal Shumsher

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) General Secretary Dhawal Shumsher Rana has said he will not accept what he called Chairman Rajendra Lingden’s authoritarian style of leadership.

Speaking at the premises of the Election Commission on Sunday, Rana said he was compelled to bring the matter to the Commission after Chairman Lingden’s actions crossed the line. He emphasized that he would not allow the party to split under any circumstances.

Backing Nawaraj Subedi—who was recently removed from the party’s Disciplinary Commission—Rana asserted that he would not tolerate arbitrary decisions within the party.

Rana, who accompanied Subedi to file a formal complaint, reiterated that Lingden’s unilateral approach is unacceptable.

“I tried to resolve this issue through consensus,” he said, “but the situation has deteriorated to the point that we had no option but to come to the Election Commission.”

He added, “People who have contributed to the party for years are being removed from their posts based on minor accusations. Even the chairman of the Disciplinary Commission was dismissed and replaced arbitrarily. This is not acceptable.”
