KATHMANDU: Nepal and Kuwait will compete for the title in the ongoing four-nation T20 series in Hong Kong today.
The final match will begin at 11:15 AM on Sunday at the Mission Road Ground in Hong Kong.
Nepal secured its spot in the final after Saturday’s match against Hong Kong was called off due to rain.
Nepal reached the final with 5 points from 3 matches, while Kuwait accumulated 4 points from the same number of matches. Hong Kong and Qatar will play for third place today.
In Saturday’s match, Nepal won the toss and elected to field. The game was halted due to rain with 9 overs remaining, with Hong Kong having scored 68 runs for the loss of 3 wickets.
The match was eventually called off, and Nepal advanced to the final as they had more points than Hong Kong.
Nepal earned 4 points from 2 matches, including 2 wins, while Hong Kong, having won only 1 out of 2 matches, collected just 2 points.
Earlier in the tournament, Nepal defeated Qatar and Kuwait. The competition, which includes hosts Hong Kong, as well as Nepal, Qatar, and Kuwait, has seen Nepal remain undefeated throughout.
