17 candidates file for chair in TU Free Students Union election



KATHMANDU: A total of 17 candidates have filed their candidacies for the post of chair in the upcoming Free Students Union (FSU) election at Tribhuvan University (TU) Central Campus in Kirtipur.

The final list, made public by the campus, includes candidates from various student groups including ANNFSU, Nepal Students Union, ANNFSU Revolutionary, Independent Students Group, and a number of independent candidates.

Prof. Dr. Krishna Prasad Neupane, Campus Election Officer, confirmed that notable names like Siddhant Bhatta (ANNFSU), Deepak Raj Joshi (Nepal Students Union), Prabin Dahal (ANNFSU Revolutionary), and Dinesh Karki (Independent Students Group) are among the contenders. Other candidates include Bilam Suwal, Akkal Ranabhat, and Narendra Singh Mahara from various unions.

The deadline for protests and withdrawals against the candidates is set for 4 pm today, and the final list will be made public by 7 pm.

The campaign for the FSU elections will begin at 2 pm on March 13 and continue until midnight of 15, with the election set to take place on March 18 across TU campuses.

A total of 6,146 voters are eligible to participate in this election.
