KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Valley’s traffic police have intensified security measures, particularly focusing on deterring rule violations on Holi.

SSP Binod Ghimire, Chief of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, announced that anyone who violates the rules during the celebration will be detained at the traffic checkpoints for the entire day.

Ghimire said violators will not only face penalties but will have their vehicles detained for the entire day at the checkpoints.

Over 120 checkpoints have been established across Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur districts, where police will closely monitor road safety and ensure that people follow regulations.

This strict enforcement aims to curb disruptive behavior, prevent accidents, and promote a safe and respectful celebration of the festival. The public has been advised to celebrate Holi responsibly, and legal actions will be taken against those engaging in disorderly conduct.
