Nepali Communist Party calls UML’s ‘homecoming campaign’ a political stunt

KATHMANDU: The newly unified Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has dismissed the CPN-UML’s recent homecoming campaign as a mere political stunt.

Speaking at a welcoming program in Kathmandu on Wednesday, where former UML Vice Chairman Dr. Bhim Rawal officially joined the unified party, leader Prakash Jwala criticized UML’s campaign as a staged act.

“On November 10, a drama was staged in this very hall, but today’s program has effectively invalidated it,” Jwala said. “That so-called ‘Ghar Farka Abhiyan’ was nothing but a show. Thousands of people are now joining the Nepali Communist Party.”

He also announced that a nationwide membership drive is underway, and that talks with other communist and socialist parties are in progress. “Discussions are ongoing with several parties, and some unifications will be finalized within days,” he added.
