YCL Nepal demands public apology from Madhesh Province lawmaker Rahbar Ansari

KATHMANDU: The Young Communist League (YCL) Nepal, the youth wing of the Nepal Communist Party, has demanded that Madhesh Province Assembly member Rahbar Ansari issue a public apology for his recent remarks against the organization.

YCL Chairperson Pushpa Oli expressed strong dissatisfaction after Ansari, a member of the then CPN (Maoist Center), made critical comments about the YCL.

Responding to Ansari’s statements, Oli challenged him, saying he should stop spreading falsehoods about the organization.

“Rahbar, perhaps you have not seen YCL Nepal engaged in public service, running labor and production campaigns, and working tirelessly to safeguard party leadership,” Oli said, adding, “While you sit comfortably in luxury, how dare you insult the sentiments of thousands of our dedicated members?”

Oli further warned that Ansari should correct himself and apologize publicly without delay.

Ansari, along with a few other Maoist lawmakers, was among those whose stance contributed to the collapse of the government led by then Chief Minister Jitendra Sonar in Madhesh Province.
