KATHMANDU: The Central Working Committee meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) is continuing today at the party’s central office in Sanepa from 11:30 a.m.
The meeting, which began on October 14, has been hearing opinions from central members on key political and organizational issues.
Members have been sharing their views on contemporary political developments and the party’s upcoming 15th General Convention.
A major point of contention in the meeting is whether to hold the General Convention before or after the upcoming House of Representatives election, currently scheduled for March 5, 2026.
General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma, along with some members, are in favor of holding a regular or special convention by December, while another faction wants the convention to take place only after the elections.
On Tuesday, Deputy General Secretaries Badri Prasad Pandey and Jeevan Pariyar, along with central members Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Dr. Minendra Rijal, Deepak Giri, Ambika Basnet, Min Bahadur Bishwakarma, Sita Gurung, Ram Janam Chaudhary, Rajiv Bikram Shah, Prakash Rasaili Snehi, Bhim Parajuli, and Goma Kumari Bhattarai, presented their views during the session.
