World Cup Qualifiers: Nepal to face UAE today

KATHMANDU: Nepal will take on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today in their first Super Six match of the ICC T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia Pacific Qualifiers.

Nepal advanced to the Super Six stage as the winner of Group ‘B’ and is set to face Group ‘A’ winner UAE. In their final group match on Friday, Nepal defeated Japan by five wickets, following an earlier 58-run victory over Kuwait in their opening match.

The Super Six clash between Nepal and UAE is scheduled for Sunday at 4:15 PM. In addition to UAE, Nepal will face Qatar, Oman, and Samoa in this stage. Nepal is set to play Qatar on Monday and Oman on Wednesday, before concluding the Super Six stage against Samoa on Friday.

The top three teams among the Super Six participants — Nepal, UAE, Oman, Japan, Qatar, and Samoa — will qualify for the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup, to be hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
