Two arrested for foreign employment fraud



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested two individuals on charges of fraudulently luring people with promises of attractive salaries abroad and sending them to Albania.

According to the Nepal Police Headquarters News Room, the arrested are Bimala Danuwar, 35, of Triyuga Municipality-9, Udayapur (currently residing in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-7), and Ramkumari Rokka Magar, 48, of Pokhara Metropolitan City-26, Kaski (currently residing in Nagarjun Municipality-1, Kathmandu).

A team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, arrested the suspects on Thursday following a complaint.

Danuwar is accused of taking Rs 800,000 from four individuals, while Rokka Magar allegedly took Rs 200,000 from two others before disappearing.

Both suspects have been handed over to the Foreign Employment Department, Tahachal, for further investigation and legal action.
