HoR meeting postponed amid continued obstruction

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) was postponed today after opposition parties once again obstructed proceedings.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire announced that the next session will be held tomorrow (Friday) at 1 p.m.

Opposition parties have been disrupting the House, demanding the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak in connection with the visit visa scandal.

The ruling coalition has stated it is prepared to provide a written commitment regarding an investigation or study into the issue. However, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has requested more time to reach a decision.

Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Chair of the main opposition party Maoist Center, expressed hope that regular parliamentary proceedings will resume from tomorrow.
