Speaker Ghimire urges Prachanda to end House deadlock

KATHMANDU: The discussion between Speaker Devraj Ghimire and CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ regarding the removal of obstruction in the House of Representatives concluded.

During the meeting, Speaker Ghimire urged Prachanda to end the obstruction in the House. Maoist Center Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey, who was present, quoted the Speaker saying, “The House must be opened soon. It has been too long.”

In response, Prachanda assured that he was making efforts to open the House. Pandey quoted Prachanda as saying, “I am serious about opening the House. I am trying.”

Meetings of the House of Representatives have been repeatedly adjourned without addressing the regular agenda, as the opposition demands an investigation into Ramesh Lekhak’s visit visa case.
