KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane is scheduled to appear at the Kathmandu District Court today (Sunday).

He faces fraud charges related to Kathmandu’s Swarnalaxmi Cooperative.

Lamichhane, the former Home Minister, had been released on bail on January 10 in connection with the fraud case involving Pokhara’s Suryadarshan Cooperative.

According to RSP leader Manish Jha, Lamichhane will appear in person at the Kathmandu District Court today.

Although there had been preparations to keep Lamichhane and two others in custody, the police’s plans have since changed.

In addition to the Kathmandu case, Lamichhane is also accused of fraud in multiple cooperatives, including Rupandehi’s Supreme Cooperative, Chitwan’s Sahara Chitwan, and Parsa’s Sano Paila Cooperative. Legal proceedings for these cases are also underway.
