PM Karki reviews progress on open competition for Nepal Airlines GM appointment

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has inquired about the progress of the open competition process to appoint the General Manager of Nepal Airlines Corporation.

In her capacity as Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, PM Karki called Secretary Hari Mainali to her office to receive updates on the procedure.

Earlier, on October 31, the Prime Minister had formed a selection committee under Secretary Mainali’s leadership to conduct the open competition for the GM position. The committee includes Captain KB Limbu as an expert member and the head of the Planning and Administration Division of the ministry as the member-secretary.

Secretary Mainali informed that the committee has been working on procedural matters, though some work was temporarily delayed due to his being away.

He added that the committee’s first meeting will be held today. PM Karki has instructed that the notice calling for applications for the open competition be published without delay.
