Floodlight installation underway as TU Cricket Stadium nears completion

KATHMANDU: Construction work at the Tribhuvan University (TU) Cricket Ground in Kirtipur is moving ahead rapidly, with the project team aiming to complete all major works before Tihar.

According to project officials, two floodlight poles have already been installed, while the installation of the remaining poles is currently underway. Once completed, the upgraded facility will be ready to host the second season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

The project chief said that all construction activities are being carried out at full pace to meet the festival deadline and ensure the ground is match-ready for the upcoming league.

Minister for Urban Development Kulman Ghising visited the under-construction cricket stadium on Thursday and directed officials to complete the remaining work on time.

The TU Cricket Ground, one of Nepal’s main cricket venues, is being upgraded to meet international standards with new floodlights, improved seating, and other modern amenities.
