Man murdered in cold blood in Kailali

KAILALI: A 28-year-old man was brutally murdered in Kailali on Thursday night following a dispute among friends who had been drinking together.

According to police, Keshar Bahadur Budha of Ghodaghodi Municipality–8, Jarai, was killed after his throat was slit by Bal Bahadur BK and Ganga Budha Chhetri. The two men allegedly attacked Budha with a sharp weapon after an argument turned violent.

In a shocking turn, both suspects walked to the nearby police post in Pratikhet carrying the victim’s severed head and surrendered themselves, said DSP Ramesh Dutta Awasthi, chief of the Sukhad Area Police Office.

Police have taken both men into custody and launched an investigation into the incident.

The gruesome killing has left residents of the area terrified. Budha’s parents live in Chaukune Rural Municipality–3, Moriwan of Surkhet District, and are on their way to Kailali.

Police said postmortem and other legal procedures will begin after the victim’s family arrives.
