Monsoon exits Nepal later than usual



KATHMANDU: After lingering a few days beyond the usual schedule, the monsoon has now exited Nepal, signaling the end of the rainy season and the start of the drier post-monsoon phase.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division issued a notice confirming that the monsoon has exited the entire region of Nepal. With this, the post-monsoon season has now begun across the country.

This year, the monsoon arrived in Nepal on May 29, which was 15 days earlier than the average arrival date of June 13. The average exit date of the monsoon is October 2. However, this year, the monsoon exited Nepal on Asoj 24, a few days later than the average date.
