Three dead, 15 injured in Bus–Microbus collision in Sunsari



 

SUNSARI: Three people were killed and 15 others injured when a passenger bus and a microbus collided head-on along the East–West Highway at Jaluwatol in Bhokraha Narsingh Rural Municipality-3 on Monday morning.

According to Sunsari District Police Office spokesperson DSP Yogaraj Khatiwada, the collision occurred between a passenger bus (Me 1 Kha 1799) traveling from Kakarbhitta to Diktel and a microbus (Province 2-01-001 Ja 0047) coming from the opposite direction. The identities of the deceased have yet to be confirmed.

The injured are receiving treatment at hospitals in Inaruwa, Biratnagar Neuro Hospital, and Nobel Hospital. Police have taken the bus driver, Gopal Adhikari of Arjundhara Municipality-1 in Jhapa, into custody for further investigation.
