Kathmandu finish in fourth place; Lumbini must beat Biratnagar to reach the final



KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Gorkhas has ended their Nepal Premier League (NPL) Season 2 campaign on Wednesday after losing to Lumbini Lions in the Eliminator match.

With the defeat, Kathmandu finish the season in fourth place, while Lumbini keep their hopes of reaching the final alive.

Lumbini will now face Biratnagar Kings,  the team that lost to Sudurpashchim Royals in the first qualifier,  in the second qualifier.
Sudurpashchim have already secured their place in the final.

The winner between Biratnagar and Lumbini will advance to the final to face Sudurpashchim for the title. The losing side will finish the tournament in third place.

In Wednesday’s Eliminator at TU International Cricket Ground, Kathmandu Gorkhas set a target of 112 runs after losing the toss.
Lumbini Lions successfully chased the total, scoring 112 runs in 17.4 overs with the loss of six wickets.
