Kathmandu Valley wakes up to colder morning

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Valley experienced a colder start to the day on Wednesday, with the minimum temperature dropping to 6.0 degrees Celsius at 5:45 am, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

This marks a slight decline from Tuesday, when the minimum temperature was 6.5 degrees Celsius at the same time and later recorded 6.2 degrees Celsius at 8:45 am.

Meteorologists explain that nighttime sky conditions significantly influence morning temperatures. If the sky remains clear at night, temperatures tend to drop, whereas a cloudy night can slightly raise the morning minimum.

The Division records daily temperatures across the country, including Kathmandu, measuring the minimum at 8:45 am and the maximum at 5:45 pm. Today’s official minimum will be confirmed again at 8:45 am, and it may decrease further depending on the overnight conditions.

The cooler temperatures are a reminder of the valley’s gradually dropping winter climate, prompting residents to take necessary precautions.
