KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continued its losing streak for the second straight day of the trading week.
After a 30.02-point decline on Sunday, the benchmark index dropped by another 5.80 points on Monday, closing at 2,560.29 points.
According to NEPSE, shares worth Rs 4.51 billion were traded today. Out of the total listed companies, 151 saw a decline in their share prices, 90 gained, while 11 remained unchanged.
In Monday’s trading, investors selling Darmakhola Hydro Energy shares earned the highest profits, while those selling Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta shares incurred the biggest losses.
Despite the minor overall fall in the benchmark index, only the hotel and tourism, investment, and trading sectors managed to stay positive, while all other sectoral sub-indices closed in the red.
