Kathmandu DAO prohibits UML youth wing from staging motorcycle rally on Saturday

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Administration Office (DAO) has prohibited the National Youth Federation Nepal, the youth wing of the CPN-UML, from holding a motorcycle rally scheduled for Saturday in the capital.

In a notice issued Friday, the DAO said the decision was made due to potential security risks that such rallies and demonstrations could pose.

“The administration will not grant permission to any individual or group to organize rallies, processions, sit-ins, assemblies, or demonstrations that could increase security challenges and complicate efforts to ensure public safety,” the statement said.

The youth wing had planned to assemble at Tinkune at 1 p.m. on Saturday to launch a motorcycle rally.
