Monsoon and local wind influence gradually weakening

KATHMANDU: Weather patterns across Nepal are shifting as the monsoon system continues to weaken, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

While most parts of the country are experiencing reduced monsoon and local wind activity, westerly winds are still active in many parts of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in some areas of western Gandaki.

This afternoon, partly cloudy skies are expected over the hilly regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, while the rest of the country will remain mostly clear. Light rain may occur in one or two locations within these provinces.

Tonight, hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki are also expected to remain partly cloudy, with a chance of light rainfall in isolated spots. The rest of the country will see mostly clear skies.
