Nepal Army recovers 7 firearms, arrests 4 looters amid prison unrest



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Army has recovered seven firearms along with magazines, rounds, and accessories, and arrested four individuals involved in lootings in the Maharajganj area.

Additional security operations in Balaju and Machhapokhari led to the seizure of one more firearm, bringing the total recovered weapons to seven.

Police reported that clashes between inmates and authorities at Dhulikhel District Prison are now under control. Meanwhile, a fire at Dillibazar Prison was brought under control through combined efforts of the army and other security agencies.

The army has also recaptured several escapees from prisons across the country: 4 in Saptari, 202 in Sunsari, 43 in Rukum (West), 50 in Kapilvastu, and 4 in Myagdi.
