Former CJ Sushila Karki ready to lead interim govt

KATHMANDU: Former Chief Justice Sushila Karki has expressed her willingness to lead the interim government following the virtual meeting of the Gen-Z group.

During the lengthy Zoom session, which lasted over five hours, the Gen-Z members reached a consensus to propose Karki for the leadership of the interim government and to hold discussions with Army Chief Ashok Sigdel. Although direct dialogue with Karki had not taken place during the meeting, a subsequent phone conversation confirmed her readiness to assume the role.

“Former Chief Justice Sushila Karki has sent a message confirming her willingness to lead the interim government,” a Gen-Z member participating in the virtual meeting said. “With her consent, we can now move forward to engage with the Army Chief.”

The Gen-Z group also agreed that youth affiliated with political parties should not participate in the discussions. In the meeting, participants noted that while other figures such as Balen Sah and Sagar Dhakal could be considered as alternatives, Karki remains the most suitable candidate to guide the country during this transitional period.
