Tribhuvan International Airport to remain closed until 6 PM

KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), which has been closed since Tuesday afternoon due to heavy smoke over the airport and across the Kathmandu Valley, will remain shut until 6 PM today.

According to airport spokesperson Rinji Sherpa, all regular flights have been suspended until further notice. However, emergency and medical flights will continue to operate as needed.

Earlier, authorities had announced that the airport would reopen by 12 noon today, but the closure has now been extended due to ongoing visibility and safety concerns.
